In August the US Census Bureau released preliminary data to aid in redistricting. State, county and municipal population data was released. York County’s population increased almost 5% to 456,438. Looking at neighboring counties, Adams County increased 2.4%, Lancaster County 6.5%, and Dauphin County 6.8%. The highest increase in the region, and in the state, was Cumberland County with 10.2% increase. Locally, Wellsville and Loganville Boroughs and West Manheim, Springfield, and Jackson Townships have had the greatest increases by percentage.
